Perils of being jobless

An over exaggerated account of the thoughts and feelings of a girl (maybe a lady) on being jobless!!!

Disclaimer: Not entirely personal 

Being jobless is being a ship without its sailor; a traveller without his compass in a wilderness; a child without its mother. Life becomes a clear mess; you can feel the clatter, a total chaos and an apocalypse.

You feel that you become insignificant and your life gets stuck between your BMI and EMI. Hair falls, pimples peep, eyes turn  baggy, your body goes berserk, prompting you always to binge whatever that is unhealthy under the sun. 

The tightfit clothes which you have successfully outgrown will laugh at you reminding you of days on which you took perfect selfies and groupies wearing them. The once overused and now unworn watch will look at you longingly to at least lift that from the congested shelf to save its dying battery. Your eventful exhausting days will turn meticulously monotonous where your only pastime is to surf your mobile gallery and smile at all the pics like an old creep, remembering the fond memories that have been frozen forever. 

The call log in your mobile will never be teeming as it used to be. You have to call your old companions like a crazy lunar only to realise that they are too held up with their routine to even pick the call. You will feel the once sought after freedom (of being at home, doing nothing), smothering you recklessly. Ultimately you end up grabbing self-help books to learn how to improve your productivity by streamlining your routine. 

All those books, random social media posts and quotes you read will let you think like Einstein or Edison to assume that people are taking your time for granted. You have only your biological clock to remind you to intake and excrete. You become obese thanks to binge eating. Days become nights and vice versa. You keep tossing and turning on the bed thinking about s**t. Trust me it is ridiculously annoying.

 "You are never too old to try something new." , said someone.  True. Life keeps giving us opportunities to explore new things. It is up to us to make the best or worst out of them.  Last Monday was the first working day at school after two months of Summer break. 🔎Treasure hunt at Mom's place🤩🔎📚

Visiting mom's place after a while is a sheer privilege. As I had been away for more than half a year, I received nothing short of a royal treatment— Sweets, snacks, drinks and beverages were served in regular intervals,  as if it would be a sin to leave even an inch of my tummy empty. My dad and mom were so much into the task that my ever-elongating tummy went on a strike and put up an invisible "houseful" board. With that mind numbing feed, I couldn't help but battle with drowsiness. To stay awake,  I was combing through my shelf for some new stuffs. There was a book that  caught my attention. It  was kept precariously on top of my neatly arranged files and folders.  When I pulled it out, a bookmark fell down to my feet. Tuesday morning dawned as always with us rushing to the auditorium with notepads / laptops. As I barged in, I saw teachers clustered section wise to discuss how to go about practising for the Teachers' day program. While walking through various clusters, I happened to overhear the "Assam" team discussing rigorously on what to wear.  Back in our section, the discussion was rather heated. Amidst the chaos, I was called. "Maha, we are staging a dance. Come. Join us!", said the event coordinator. Before it could sink in, I was dragged to the rehearsal spot where a dozen more teachers had already been waiting. Being a newbie, I couldn't gather myself to say "NO". So, out of FOMO , I nodded my head, wishing badly to be rejected.  The other teachers in the room were filled with josh and vigour.
