On cracking jokes in staffroom..

You may consider yourself to be a pro in cracking jokes but the sad reality is, "A BIG NO!" You utter whatever seems funny to you but crazily enough, there are diverse categories of people who decode your "witty jokes" in thousand different ways because staffroom is the funniest place which lacks nothing else but sense of humour. 

The first category of people are the majority. No matter what you say, they readily suspend that branding "Cringe" and mock you in a muffled way. Trust me the term may sound fancy but it will irritate you like nothing else can do. 

The second category people are weirder. They say that they have no time to laugh for your jokes, as if they were about to launch a rocket in minutes. And they deserve a tight slap in return when they expect you to listen to their ramblings.  

The third category people are the hardest nuts to be cracked. They will get offended and let you explain your insensible joke for nth time, just to understand that it makes no sense.

The fourth category people are the most irritating. When you expect them to laugh for your jokes, they laugh at you telling the most irritating sentence, "seems you have no work that your humour sense is skyrocketing!!!" and the entire staffroom will laugh in unison. And you see they are the modern day Sigmund Freuds to find out the reason behind one's sense of humour. 

The fifth category people are toxic. Jokes are not jokes to them but you are. When you expect them to laugh, they say, "That's a good joke. Now do me this favour". "Poofff.....!" You have to cut a sorry figure that you are trapped in a labour of Sisyphus, that will dampen all your sense of humour for the rest of that day. 

Despite all these weirdos, there are some moments, maybe so rare and special that you spend laughing at one another for no reason that the whole hectic, troublesome day will turn out to be miraculously cheerful and buoyant. 

Laughing is an escape from reality. And those people out there..., laugh!!!
You know why? Because it is free!!!

Dunki (2023) London - City of dreams or City of Nightmare? Grass is always greener on the other side. People migrating to foreign countries for want of better life is not a new scenario but there is an ugly side too. There are numerous underprivileged, uneducated people who attempt to reach the target country illegally, risking their lives.  Rajkumar Hirani's SRK starrer "Dunki" has attempted its best to portray the plights of those people. Technically, "Dunki is an illegal trip a lot of people take to get out of their country across borders over the world. "Yenna Yazhu... Innum 1 naal dhan. Apram 2 naal leave.... Jolly dhan!!!", a lady was shouting out as I was busy scrapping a coconut.  "Aama, aunty!!!", came a cheerful reply. It was quarter to four in the noon. The road was empty that their interaction was heard throughout the alleyway. Yazhu is a granddaughter of our front door neighbour who has just joined her KG, in a nursery school in our locality. When I peeped through our gateway, she was fiddling next to the main entrance of their house, still decked up in her school uniform.
